Join the Ambleside Orchestra?

We have immediate openings for intermediate to advanced string players.

We also keep a roster of qualified wind, brass, and percussion players. Orchestral experience isn’t necessary, but you must be an advanced player.

Our season runs from September to June. We rehearse on Wednesdays from 3:30 to 5:30 pm at Highlands United Church, 3255 Edgemont Boulevard (in Edgemont Village), North Vancouver.

The Ambleside Orchestra offers its players:

• A challenging and varied orchestral repertoire.
• Up to thirty-eight rehearsals and eight concerts a year.
• The experience of playing together with people of all ages and from all walks of life.
• Opportunities for leadership roles and solos.
• Sectional coaching sessions with Vancouver Academy of Music faculty members.
• For young musicians, opportunities to earn:
• Scholarships and awards.
• Community orchestra credit for grades ten, eleven, and twelve.
• Community orchestra transfer credit for university and college programs.
• High school service hours for each community concert.

Our annual dues are just $200, reduced to $100 for full-time students.
